Orientation for New Boy Scout Parents
A Volunteer Organization
- Scouting is a volunteer organization of parents with a common goal. Our goal is to help to instill values
and prepare our sons to make responsible choices now and in the future. This goal requires perseverance,
not only on the part of the scout, but also the part of the parents. Our scouting program is designed to
be a seven year adventure that will have a tremendous and life long influence on your son. The completion
of this journey is one that your son will never forget.
Scouting offers experiences that are not duplicated anywhere else. Scouting provides adventures, offers
challenges and teaches responsibility. Scouting help develop self sufficiency, awareness and social skills.
Scouting offers a program that expands the understanding of honor and character as well as pride - pride
in themselves, in their community and in their country.

Involvement
Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend all meetings and activities. Scout meetings and camping trips
are an excellent time to be a part of your scout’s patrol activities, meet other parents, and
participate in Troop concerns.
